Description

Promotional poster for the release of the iPhone 5 by Apple Inc., picturing the groundbreaking smartphone under its name and slogan, “The biggest thing to happen to iPhone since iPhone,” signed prominently in black felt tip by Tim Cook as Apple's CEO and by Ralph de la Vega, then president and CEO of AT&T Mobility. Double-matted and framed to an overall size of [dimensions]. In fine condition.

According to the consignor, the poster was presented in recognition of his work on the iPhone 5 launch while serving in AT&T's Digital organization. Having joined the company as an employee by the time of the launch, he received the commemorative signed poster as an internal award. The consignor notes that Apple and AT&T discontinued the tradition of issuing these signed launch posters after the iPhone 5 release.

Unveiled by Apple on September 12, 2012, and released nine days later, the iPhone 5 marked the first iPhone introduced following Steve Jobs's death in October 2011. Featuring a taller 4-inch Retina display, a thinner and lighter aluminum body, the new Lightning connector, LTE networking, and Apple's A6 processor, it represented the most significant redesign of the iPhone since the iPhone 4. The launch proved to be another landmark success for Apple, with the iPhone 5 selling more than five million units during its opening weekend and helping establish the company's continued dominance of the rapidly expanding smartphone market.
