Description

French novelist, war poet, and soldier (1882–1915) who was killed by friendly fire during World War I. ALS in French, one page, 4.75 x 3.75, Ville de Paris, Service des Beaux-Arts letterhead, November 14, 1903. Handwritten letter regarding an upcoming meeting, in part (translated): "My dear Master, on Sunday around 10:30, with Escholier and probably Brousson, we will bring along the young Machard, father of Trique and Titine, who is burning with desire to meet you. I hope he will make his usual charming impression on you—he’s such a delightful comrade and such a lovely friend!" In very fine condition.
