Three of William E. Thornton's suits from the Skylab and Shuttle eras, plus his blue garment bag. Includes:
- bright orange flight suit coverall, size "42 Long," featuring his "William Thornton, J.S.C. Houston" leather name tag affixed with Velcro to the left breast. The original manufacturer's tag is sewn into the collar, reading: "Flite Wear by Land Mfg. Co." Exhibits general wear from age and use.
- royal blue flight suit coverall, size LL, featuring his "Bill Thornton, JSC - Houston" leather name tag affixed with Velcro to the left breast. The original manufacturer's tag is sewn into the collar, reading: "P/N: 63A232010, Size: LL, Mfg. by: Qual-Craft Mfgs.," with a "Thornton" identification card stapled to the tag. The name tag is creased and worn, but the suit appears unworn.
- two-piece "Laboratory Garment" suit from SMD III, a simulation of a Spacelab life sciences mission: a jacket with "Thornton" name tag, "SMD III" embroidered patch, and NASA 'meatball' logo patch on the chest, and an American flag on the left shoulder, with tag in the collar, "Laboratory Garment, GE-M-06[9] [Prototype, struck through], XL, WT"; and matching trousers with several Velcro-close pockets and an integrated metal clip, with tag sewn into the waistband, "Laboratory Garment, Trousers, Size 36L, P/N TPS GE-M-069." Both pieces exhibit heavy foxing and staining.
- royal blue nylon garment bag, featuring his sewn-on leather name tag, "Bill Thornton, JSC - Houston," and embroidered official patches for the Skylab Medical Experiment Altitude Test (SMEAT), STS-8, and STS-51-B. Exhibits some rubbing and creasing to the name tag.
In overall good to fine condition.
