The front pastedown of the second volume bears an ownership bookplate belonging to noted electrical engineer and inventor Miller Reese Hutchinson, PhD, of ‘Colonia,’ Llewellyn Park, West Orange, New Jersey. Autographic condition: fine, with some faint toning to the signed page. Book condition: VG/None, with edgewear and rubbing to boards, and an ink notation to the first free end page of Vol. I
Presented by Edison to electrical engineer and inventor Miller Reese Hutchison (1876–1944), best known for developing the pioneering Akouphone hearing aid. Hutchison had recently joined Edison's West Orange laboratory, where he worked on storage battery development before later becoming the inventor's chief engineer in 1912.
