Description

Scarce moon-flown $20 bill carried to the moon on the Apollo 15 Command Module 'Endeavour'

Flown Series 1969 twenty-dollar bill, serial number G44537935A, carried on the Apollo 15 Command Module 'Endeavour,' signed on the portrait side in black felt tip by Dave Scott, Jim Irwin, and Al Worden. In fine condition.

Accompanied by a signed letter of provenance from CMP Al Worden, dated December 16, 1971, in full: "This is to certify that this $20.00 bill S/N G 44537935A was carried aboard the command module 'Endeavor' during the Apollo 15 flight to the moon 26 July - 7 August 1971."

While $1, $2 and $20 bills flew aboard Apollo 15, the $20 bill is rarely seen—it is believed that Worden only flew four twenty-dollar bills. An exceedingly scarce, higher denomination moon-flown bill.

The Richard Jurek Collection.
