Abbott Lawrence, formerly United States Minister to the United Kingdom In part: "I have good reason to suppose that Lord Hardinge is disposed to investigate and favor my inventions, such of them at least as relate to army equipments, but in what way they have been brought to his notice is more than I know. I shall not myself be prepared to meet him with an assortment of equipments in the way I intend to do for some weeks and when I do so it would give me great pleasure to hand him a letter of introduction from yourself if you would be so kind as to forward one to me." In fine condition.
From the personal collection of a lifelong collector, teacher, and traveler with a passion for world history. His collecting years ranged from the 1970s to the present day, meaning that several of the premier pieces have not been on the market in decades.
