Description

Partly-printed DS as president, one page, 23 x 19, May 17, 1928. President Coolidge appoints William Oscar Jones as “a Consul of the United States of America…at Rome, Italy, for Rome…and I do hereby and request His Majesty, the King of Italy…to permit the said William Oscar Jones fully and peacefully to enjoy and exercise the said office.” Signed at the conclusion in crisp black ink by Calvin Coolidge, and countersigned by Frank B. Kellogg as Secretary of State. The beige embossed wafer seal remains affixed to the lower left. In very good to fine condition, with light creasing and toning to the edges.
