Description

Partly-printed vellum DS as president, signed “J. Q. Adams,” one page, 13.5 x 18.25, April 28, 1826. President Adams, "by and with the advice and consent of the Senate," appoints William Seton as "a Lieutenant in the Navy in the service of the United States." Signed at the conclusion in ink by President John Quincy Adams, and countersigned by Secretary of the Navy Samuel Southard. The white Navy Department seal affixed at the bottom remains intact. In fine condition, with adhesive residue to reverse.
