Description

Pair of turned wooden dishes incorporating wood attributed to the Ford Mansion, used by George Washington during the winter of 1779–1780, both approximately 4˝ in diameter x 1˝ thick, one inset with a central plaque reading, “Made of wood which formed the shingles of roof of house at which Washington had his Head Quarters, Morristown, N.J., 1780,” the other featuring a transfer-printed view captioned “Washington’s Headquarters, Morristown.” In overall fine condition, with light surface wear.
