Termite Terrace was the nickname for the original building that housed the Leon Schlesinger Productions animation studio, which later transitioned to the famed Warner Bros. Cartoons, the home of Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies, and the stomping ground of animators like Tex Avery, Bob Clampett, and Chuck Jones. It earned its entomological moniker because the building, a small clapboard structure, was infested with termites and other insects. Originally used to describe the building itself, the nickname Termite Terrace now represents the creative hub of the classic Warner Bros. animation department.
