UPDATE: Regarding the translation: ?Osynliga länkar? is the Swedish name for a collection of novels. Marie Franzos was the authorized translator into the German language for Selma Lagerlöf The text in Swedish is written in a older way both when it comes to words and spelling. The equivalent words in modern English are applied to the translation.


Description

Swedish writer (1858-1940) who, in 1909, became the first woman to win the Nobel Prize for Literature. ALS in Swedish, four pages on two adjoining sheets, 4.5 x 7, September 7, 1904. Handwritten letter to her translator, regarding someone who unlawfully "published parts of Osynliga Lanker who is currently busy seeking a publisher for a new edition" without her permission. Lagerlof ultimately dismisses the distraction to focus on her writing: "I cannot write anything but belles lettres pieces…I am engaged on a big piece of work, from which I do not wish to break off." In fine condition.
