ALS signed “Dad,” one page, 8.5 x 11, Hotel Leamington (Minneapolis, Minnesota) letterhead, postmarked September 19, 1972. Handwritten letter to “Sweetie,” presumably his wife Dolores Wettach, in full: “Check inclosed. Also inclosing Bill you to keep. I’m writing this with better penmanship to show you I’m not shaking so much. You might think I’m only writing without a shake because it’s in the morning, this is not true as I’m steady all day. Fifty four is not so old especially when I’m married to such a young beautiful girl.” In the upper right, Williams adds "Keep Bill for record," the last word of which is noticeably shaky. In fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope hand-addressed by Williams, who incorporates his signature in both the front address, "Mrs. Ted Williams, RFD, Putney, Vermont," and in the return address on the reverse flap, "Ted Williams, Texas Rangers, Arlington, Tex."
