TLS signed “W. Heisenberg,” one page, 8.25 x 11.75, Max Planck Institute letterhead, August 16, 1972. Letter to Joseph D'Ambra in Cambridge, Massachusetts, in part: "You ask me about the German effort in Uranium research during the last war. Shortly after the war I have published a report on this work in the periodical 'Nature' and I am enclosing a copy of this paper. After David Irving's presentation of the matter I have written a review of his book in the 'Bulletin of Atomic Scientists' and I am also enclosing a copy of this review. Finally I have told a part of this story in my book 'Physics and Beyond'; a paperback edition of this book is now available in the American bookstores." In fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope and two photocopies of brief articles by Heisenberg. From the collection of Stephen Adamson.
