Letter to conductor and composer Nicolas Slonimsky, in full (translated): "I would have been glad to attend your concert this evening, especially to applaud the works by my friends Varese and Salzedo. But I must decline since I have to leave Paris early tomorrow morning and I still have work to do before I leave. Forgive me, and believe me yours."
