American composer, organist and teacher (1863-1919) who was a central figure in musical life in New Haven, Connecticut in the late 19th century, and is best remembered as the undergraduate teacher of Charles Ives while the composer attended Yale University. Impressive AMQS on an off-white 3.75 x 2.75 card, signed below in fountain pen, "Horatio W. Parker, feb. 15, 1899," who boldly pens 12 bars of music with an "Allo' moderato" tempo. In fine condition.
