Description

German composer (1878-1934) best known for his operas and orchestral music. Schreker, a Jew, was denounced by the Nazis for the production of 'Entartete' music, placing him in the company of such 'rejects' as Mendelssohn, Mahler, and Schoenberg. Fountain pen signature, "F. Schreker,” on an off-white 5.75 x 5.75 sheet of letterhead from the State Academic University of Music in Berlin. In fine condition, with intersecting folds. From the collection of Stephen Adamson.
