American golfer (1892–1969) who won eleven professional majors, a record surpassed only by Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus. Over the course of his career, he won two U.S. Open titles, and, in 1922, became the first American to win the British Open, which he would win a total of four times. Scarce vintage glossy 10 x 8 photo of Hagen and a large gallery following his shot, signed and inscribed in fountain pen to boxer Packey O’Gatty, “To Packey O’Gatty, Sincerely, Walter Hagen.” In very good condition, with a professional repair to top left corner, several other creases and separations repaired on reverse, one crease through first name of signature, and scattered surface marks.
