In full: “I regret that I have no signatures of Genl. R. E. Lee to send you; I have already given away all those that I could spare from my files. I thank you for the offer of Pha. papers, but they are accessible to me in our commercial reading room here.” In fine, bright condition, with mailing fold touching one letter of signature.
