Description

Gargantuan color portrait presented to a brave FBI hostage negotiator

Impressive color matte-finish 15.75 x 19.5 half-length portrait of Hoover, affixed to its original 19.75 x 24 mount, signed and inscribed on the mount in black ink, "To Thomas H. Farrow, With every good wish, J. Edgar Hoover, 10-20-69." In fine condition, with the inscription and signature a shade light. Farrow was a distinguished FBI agent who, in 1973, managed to negotiate the release of two flight attendants being held hostage by a hijacker. In addition to the terrific FBI association, this is one of the only signed color photos of Hoover that we have ever seen—and certainly the largest of any type.
