Early signed Hoover portrait dated shortly before becoming the first director of the FBI

Early vintage matte-finish 7 x 9.25 portrait photo of Hoover as director of the Bureau of Investigation, signed and inscribed in ink on the original 10 x 13.75 mat, “To George F. Zimmer, with cordial regards, J. Edgar Hoover, December 1934.” In fine condition, with light soiling to the mat. Author George F. Zimmer is perhaps best remembered for his 1934 work, K-7: Spies at War. A desirable early portrait signed by Hoover shortly before becoming the first director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
