I wish that we could have accepted your invitation to go to Cambridge but it was not possible at the time. Thank you very much for asking us." In fine condition, with intersecting folds. In March 1938, exasperated by the relentless attention from the public that followed the kidnapping and death of his child, Lindbergh purchased Ile Illiec off the coast of Port-Blanc, Brittany, France; he lived there only until December of that year, returning to the United States when war began to threaten all of Europe.
