Description

Partly-printed vellum DS as president, signed "J. Q. Adams," one page, 14 x 18.5, April 24, 1828. President Adams appoints George W. Stover as "a Master Commandant in the Navy in the Service of the United States." Signed at the conclusion by John Quincy Adams, and countersigned by Secretary of the Navy Samuel Southard. This attractive military commission bears the embossed white Navy Department seal to bottom vignette. In fine condition, with some light mirroring of ink to small portions of text and signature.
