Vintage glossy 8 x 10 photo, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, “To a Nurse that was Wonderful to Me for many months Muriel Holland. From Babe Ruth, 7-14-47.” Surface creases, impressions, scattered scratches, a strip of crazing along the right side, faint toning to the extreme edges, and some small areas of staining to the emulsion, otherwise fine condition. Muriel Holland’s role in Ruth’s life was paramount, as it was she who cared for him during a bitter illness from January through July of 1947. Ruth delivered this heart-felt inscription of gratitude to Holland when her time as caretaker had come to an end. Pre-certified Steve Grad/PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
