Vintage matte-finish 6.25 x 8.5 photo of Ruth in a jacket and tie, looking over his shoulder into the camera, by Piaz Studio of Paris, signed and inscribed in fountain pen “To The one and only Jimmie, Sincerely, ‘Babe’ Ruth, Feb. 7th, 1928.” Matted and framed to an overall size of 12.75 x 15.75. Moderate silvering to darker areas of image, otherwise fine condition. Accompanied by a full letter of authenticity from PSA/DNA. This photograph was originally presented to Jimmie Donohue, who owned a New Jersey restaurant frequented by the Bambino. Through the years, Ruth and Donohue became close friends, with the restaurateur becoming the recipient of many such items. This picture remained with the Donohue family for 80 years. RRAuction COA.
