Extraordinary official Reach American League (Harridge) single-signed baseball, signed and inscribed on a side panel in fountain pen (circa 1931-1934), “To Ed Tennis from Babe Ruth.” Harridge was president of the American League from 1931 to 1959; the consignor relates that the signature was acquired in the early 1930s, while the “Bambino” was wearing Yankee pinstripes. In fine condition, with soft, uniform, appealing patina to the ball, and very slight, indistinct skipping to a few pen strokes. The ball is encapsulated in a PSA/DNA authentication cube, is graded NM-MT 8, and is accompanied by a letter of grading and authenticity from PSA/DNA, grading the signature an 8 and the ball a 7. The cornerstone of any serious baseball collection, a single-signed Ruth ball is an essential acquisition and one of the game’s most desirable autographs. A stunning example with phenomenal visual impact! Auction LOA Steve Grad/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
