Signed on the first free end page in ink, "from Walt Whitman, Camden, N. Jersey, U.S. America." Tipped in is a youthful engraving of Whitman in 1854, as used in the first issues of Leaves of Grass. This was the first edition of Leaves of Grass to include 'Passage to India' in book form. Autographic condition: fine, with somewhat irregular toning to the signed page. Book condition: VG-/None, with cracked hinges, edgewear, bumped corners, and some penciled notations inside.
