Three items signed by Maxwell Anderson, including: a handwritten three-stanza poem, beginning, "My life's in the north / and my heart's in the south," signed at the conclusion, "Maxwell Anderson, 1934"; an ALS signed "Maxwell A.," June 12, 1934, mentioning the publication of his verse-play Mary of Scotland: "May is published…The trade edition was issued by Doubleday, Doran"; and an ALS signed "Maxwell Anderson," to Walker Alford, in part: "I have a note from you…saying you've found those Shaw books I commissioned you to hunt for. It has been far more trouble than I thought it would be when I suggested it." In overall very good to fine condition, with light staining to the poem, and irregular toning to one of the letters. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope for the letter to Alford, addressed in Anderson's hand.
