Description
Founder of IBM (1874-1956), he built the firm into one of the most powerful companies in the world, was one of the richest men of his time, and called the world's greatest salesman when he died. TLS signed “Thos. J. Watson,” one page, 7.25 x 10.5, personal letterhead, June 2, 1952. Letter to Mr. L. E. Northway of the International Business Machines Corporation, in part: "Mrs. Watson and I were pleased to learn that your wife's condition is good following the operation she has undergone…We know we speak for all your friends in the IBM family when we say that we are thinking of Mrs. Northway and awaiting the good news that she is feeling fine once again." In very good to fine condition, with show-through in the letterhead area from old mounting remnants on the reverse.
