Description

ALS signed “Jackie,” one page both sides, 7.5 x 9.75, no date but postmarked June 21, 1968. Handwritten letter to Kennedy cousin Ann Gargan, in part: "Please know that I think about you all the time—nobody has ever been so brave—I remember our talks about your house & its garden & then at the hairdresser in NY in some old tattered magazine with lots of pages torn out—I saw this article about gardens—I think it is a great help to study it now—We can ask Bunny for final advice—but as you know, I've been working with her for 7 yrs & she knows so much & I so little—I always forget which is annual & which will come up next year—& it's higher mathematics to plan a garden that will have something blooming all year—without a million gardeners. Usually it's a spring—with first blossoms lilac & bulbs, daffodils, narcissus, tulip, etc.—or a summer garden like my border that looks like no-man's land by Labor Day every year—so look it over & see what you like—& when I'm back—we'll talk to Bunny." In fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, addressed in Kennedy's own hand and free franked in the upper right, "Jacqueline Kennedy, Air Mail."

From the estate of Ann Gargan King.
