William E. Thornton's NASA-issued Apollo-era mustard yellow flight suit, with his "Bill Thornton, MSC-Houston" leather name tag affixed with Velcro to the left breast. The suit features a Velcro waist cinch and wrist cuffs, several zippered pockets, ventilated armpits, and inseam knife pocket with snap closure. The original tag is sewn into the collar: "Coveralls, Flying, Mens, Durette, Gold, Type CWU/P, NAS 9-13717, MIL-C-83141, Size 42L, Anti-Cold Insulated Clothing, Inc." In very good to fine condition, with expected wear from use. An iconic example of Apollo-era flight wear, Thornton’s mustard-yellow suit embodies the unmistakable visual language of America’s golden age of spaceflight.
