World War II-dated DS, signed three times, "Mickey McGuire," "Joe Yule, Jr.," and "Mickey Rooney," eight pages, 8.5 x 11, William Morris Agency contract, March 2, 1943. Motion picture agency agreement between Mickey Rooney and the William Morris Agency appointing the firm as his exclusive representative in the motion picture industry for a three-year term commencing February 20, 1943. Signed three times at the conclusion by Rooney, who signs with his birth name, "Joe Yule, Jr.," his famous stage name, "Mickey Rooney," and "Mickey McGuire," the name of the popular comic-strip character that inspired his earliest screen persona and professional name. In fine condition, with a horizontal bend.

Executed at the height of Mickey Rooney's extraordinary Hollywood career, this William Morris Agency contract documents the actor's professional representation during one of the busiest periods of his life. By 1943, Rooney had established himself as one of MGM's biggest stars, having headlined the immensely popular Andy Hardy series, appeared alongside Judy Garland in a string of successful musicals, and earned Academy Award recognition before reaching adulthood.
