Description

Two ink signatures, "George Harrison" and "To Jim, Ravi Shankar," on separate white 4 x 1.75 slips, nicely matted and framed with an image to an overall size of 16.25 x 16.5. In fine condition.

George Harrison’s collaboration with Ravi Shankar helped introduce Indian classical music to a vast Western audience, beginning with Harrison’s sitar studies in the mid-1960s and continuing through recordings, performances, and charitable projects. Their enduring friendship culminated most famously in the 1971 Concert for Bangladesh, a landmark benefit organized by Harrison and inspired by Shankar’s appeal for humanitarian aid.
