Walt Disney recognizes a young fan’s love of “Mary Poppins”

TLS, signed "Walt Disney," one page, 7.25 x 10.5, personal letterhead, August 8, 1966. Letter to Miss Betty Jane Saden, in part: "Mrs. Hill-Smith gave me your very nice note and I wanted you to know how pleased I am to hear you liked our 'Mary Poppins' so well. I hope you will continue to enjoy our movies and books." In very good to fine condition, with faint show-through from red adhesive remnants on the reverse.

Released in 1964, Mary Poppins became one of Walt Disney’s greatest triumphs, blending live action, animation, music, and groundbreaking visual effects into a beloved adaptation of P. L. Travers’s books. Written two years after its premiere, this warm letter reflects Disney’s personal pride in a film that earned widespread acclaim, won five Academy Awards, and stood among the defining achievements of his career.
