Description

Apple IIe Platinum personal computer (Model A2S2128), serial no. E2209D1A2S2128, retaining its original retail box with matching molded Styrofoam packing inserts. The computer remains housed in its original pink anti-static sleeve with the factory keyboard protector and "OPEN ME FIRST" setup insert still in place. Also included are the original documentation packet, connection cables, and period Apple literature, including “A Touch of Applesoft BASIC.” In overall fine condition, with scattered wear to the box, including stains, creases, and tears.

Introduced in January 1983, the Apple IIe became the most successful and longest-lived member of the Apple II family. This example is the Apple IIe Platinum, the final revision of the model, introduced in January 1987. Distinguished by its platinum-gray case and built-in numeric keypad, it also featured 128KB of memory as standard and additional hardware refinements while maintaining compatibility with the extensive Apple II software library. Remaining in production until November 1993, the Apple IIe became a fixture in homes, schools, and businesses, securing its place as one of the most influential personal computers of the 1980s.
