Description

Ink signature, “James Buchanan,” on an off-white 7.75 x 1.5 sheet clipped from the close of a letter penned in a secretarial hand to “General Andrew Jackson.” Mounted and framed with an engraved portrait to an overall size of 10 x 13. In fine condition.

A trusted political ally of Andrew Jackson, James Buchanan was appointed by the president as U.S. Minister to Russia in 1832.
