Vintage ballpoint signature, “Love always, Jimi Hendrix,” who adds a small heart on a yellow 4.75 x 3 tag, which is affixed to an 8.5 x 9.75 album page bearing a mounted original glossy photo of Jimi Hendrix and the Experience performing at the Gröna Lund amusement park in Stockholm, Sweden, during the group's 1967 Scandinavian tour. Swedish notations to the album page read (translated): “Jimi Hendrix June Gröna Lund 1967”; the notation contains a minor dating error, as Hendrix performed at Gröna Lund in late May 1967, rather than June. In fine condition.
Accompanied by a signed letter of provenance from the daughter of the original recipient: “As told to me by my mom, she got this autograph from Jimi Hendrix during the 1967 tour Jimi Hendrix Experience, playing at Gröna Lund Amusement Park in Stockholm, Sweden on May 24, 1967. My mom expressed many times how special the concert was for her as a young teenager at the time, and was very proud over her autograph.”
Performed during the band's First European Tour, just weeks after the May 1967 UK release of their debut album Are You Experienced, this Stockholm concert finds the Jimi Hendrix Experience at the outset of the run of singles and live performances that would establish them internationally. The documented setlist from the Stora Scenen stage at Gröna Lund includes ‘Foxy Lady,’ ‘Rock Me Baby,’ ‘Hey Joe,’ ‘Can You See Me,’ ‘Purple Haze,’ and a closing ‘Wild Thing,’ the same song Hendrix would set ablaze at the Monterey Pop Festival less than a month later, on June 18, 1967, in one of the most iconic moments of his career.
