Description

Vintage program for the Jazz Unlimited concert presented in association with Melody Maker at the Free Trade Hall in Manchester, England, on October 21, 1962, 8 x 10.5, signed on the front cover and inside in ballpoint by eight performers who appeared on the bill: Helen Humes, Jump Jackson, Willie Dixon, Brownie McGhee, John Lee Hooker, T-Bone Walker, Shakey Jake, and Memphis Slim. In very good to fine condition, with creasing, handling wear, and tape along the spine. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Tracks.

Arriving in the United Kingdom just as a new generation of young musicians was discovering the blues, the Jazz Unlimited package featured several of the genre's most influential figures, including John Lee Hooker, Willie Dixon, T-Bone Walker, Brownie McGhee, and Memphis Slim. Performances such as this helped fuel the British blues boom of the early 1960s, inspiring countless artists on both sides of the Atlantic.
