(Walt Disney Studios, 1951) Original concept painting attributed to Ken Anderson for Alice in Wonderland, depicting Alice inside the White Rabbit’s cottage. Rendered in Anderson’s distinctive story-development style, the composition shows Alice opening the door and entering a room filled with ornate furnishings, framed wall decorations, a prominent grandfather clock, and a suspended glass bottle containing a model ship. Accomplished in tempera on 10 x 8.25 artist's board. In fine condition.
Ken Anderson (1909–1993) was a longtime Disney artist, storyman, and production designer whose work influenced many of the studio's most celebrated animated features. Joining Disney in 1934, Anderson contributed to such classics as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Pinocchio, Alice in Wonderland, Lady and the Tramp, One Hundred and One Dalmatians, The Jungle Book, and The Aristocats. Known for his strong sense of visual storytelling and staging, he played a key role in developing characters, environments, and narrative sequences across multiple generations of Disney animation.
