Scarce NOC badge issued to members of the Japanese national team who attended the 1932 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. Manufactured by the Tokyo workshop Satō Shōgo, the badge was designed as a kimono obidome and presented as a commemorative gift to Japanese athletes upon their return from the Xth Olympiad. The gold-tone buckle, 1.75˝ x 1˝, features a beautiful enamel design depicting seven waving Japanese flags against a blue sky, with the Olympic rings above and Japanese text below. Includes its original wooden presentation box.
