American businessman (1868–1938) who founded the Firestone Tire and Rubber Company, one of the first global makers of automobile tires. Vintage matte-finish 7.25 x 9.25 Underwood & Underwood portrait photo of tire industry pioneer Harvey S. Firestone, depicting the founder of the Firestone Tire and Rubber Company in a formal seated pose, signed and dated in ink, "Harvey S. Firestone, December 20, 1928." Affixed to a same-size cardstock mount and in fine condition, with trimmed edges and a trivial surface crease touching his jacket cuff. A handsome signed portrait of one of the foremost industrialists of the early automotive era, whose close association with Henry Ford helped shape the growth of the American automobile industry.
