Handwritten letter to Mr. Pruden, in full: “Have you seen anything of my warrant for delay for July? I write, fearing you may have sent it and it has miscarried. Please send me the latest congressional directory.” In fine condition, with a minor brush to the salutation. The recipient was Octavius Longworth Pruden (1842–1902), a longtime White House official who held the official title of Assistant Secretary to the President.
