Description

Collection of six hardcover books from the personal library of John Maxwell Taylor, son of General Maxwell D. Taylor, containing presentation inscriptions and signatures from notable military, political, and public figures, including General Mark W. Clark, General Maxwell D. Taylor (three volumes), Thomas E. Dewey, and Henri Le Caron, the pseudonym of British spy and double agent Thomas Miller Beach. Several volumes retain Taylor's personal bookplate and are inscribed directly to him, including Clark's From the Danube to the Yalu, Dewey's Journey to the Far Pacific, and Taylor's own The Uncertain Trumpet. Also included is a tipped-in ALS signed by Le Caron in his memoir, Twenty-Five Years in the Secret Service. In overall very good to fine condition, with scattered wear to the dust jackets and toning to text blocks, and the opening pages of the Le Caron book detached but present.
