Printed souvenir card issued for the “Olympia Philatelie München 72” Olympic stamp exhibition, 7.75 x 5.75, featuring reproductions of U.S. postage stamp designs honoring the 1972 Winter Olympics in Sapporo and Summer Olympics in Munich, signed in the lower right in ballpoint by Jesse Owens, who adds his celebrated Olympic year inscription, “’36.” Archivally matted and framed to an overall size of 12.75 x 10.75. In fine condition.
Accompanied by a 1936 wire photo of Owens riding in an open automobile through Manhattan during a ticker-tape parade held in his honor after winning four gold medals at the 1936 Berlin Games, and a photo of Owens leaping from the starting line during the 100-meter dash at the 1936 Olympic Games, both are individually matted and framed under archival glass to overall sizes of 14.25 x 12.25 and 12.25 x 13.75.
