President Cleveland writes to Colt's Patent Fire-Arms Manufacturing Company, requesting a duck-hunting shotgun

ALS as president, one page, 4.5 x 7, Executive Mansion letterhead, March 9, 1894. Handwritten letter to Colt's Patent Fire-Arms Manufacturing Company, in full: "I have a 12 gauge hammerless, breech loading gun which I am much pleased with. Do you manufacture 8 gauge guns of this style and if so when can I procure one suitable for ducking and at which price?" In very good to fine condition, with a small area of paper loss in the blank upper left corner and a small edge split to the horizontal fold. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, addressed in Cleveland's own hand.
