Vintage ballpoint and felt tip signatures of Lynyrd Skynyrd dated to their concert at the Odeon Theatre in Birmingham, England, on February 2, 1977, as part of their 1977 European tour, signed on four album pages, and the inside cover of said autograph album, each measuring 5.5 x 4 and 4 x 5.5. The autographs are as follows: “Thanks, Ronnie Van Zant,” and on the reverse, “Many thanks, Steve Gaines”; “Ta cheers, Leon Wilkeson,” and on the reverse by rock legend Roy Orbison; “Thanks, Bill Powell”; “Jo-Jo Billingsley (‘Skynyrd Tour of UK - 77’),” signed on the reverse by English model Twiggy; and “Gary Rossington,” signed on the reverse by Swedish actress Britt Ekland. In overall fine condition, with some light stains and spotting. Each page/cover is individually encapsulated by Beckett Authentication Services.
Lynyrd Skynyrd started their Street Survivors Tour on January 1, 1977, playing shows in California and Hawaii before heading to Japan and then over to England, where they played 11 shows in 13 nights, including at the Odeon Theatre in Birmingham on February 2, 1977. The band returned to the States in April and, after a busy summer, started their next tour, the ominously titled ‘Tour of the Survivors,’ the final tour of the original band, as three band members (Ronnie Van Zant, Steve Gaines, and Cassie Gaines) were killed in a plane crash on October 20, 1977.
