Hughes presents his portrait to a fellow aviation and motion picture executive

Fabled billionaire industrialist, filmmaker, and aviator (1905–1976) who takes a place among the most colorful personalities of the 20th century. Vintage matte-finish 6.75 x 9 photo of Hughes in a half-length pose, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, "To Mr. & Mrs. George Armsby, from one who can never repay your many graces, Howard.” In very good to fine condition, with trimmed edges, and discoloration to his suit jacket. Accompanied by a full letter of authenticity from JSA.

George Newell Armsby (1876–1942) was on the boards of Curtiss-Wright, Universal Pictures, Bancamerica-Blair, and other major corporations, and was involved in the formation of Transcontinental Air Transport, which later became TWA.
