Description

TLS in French, one page, 5.25 x 8.25, Librairie Gallimard letterhead, April 18, 1955. Letter to Albert Blain, in full (translated): "I would gladly join you, but you forgot to give me the date of this pleasant luncheon. As it happens, I am leaving Paris and France at the end of the week for about three weeks. Please let me know this specific date, and we can see if we can adjust our schedules. Thank you in any case for your letter and your kind offer. I haven't forgotten our little chats on the quays, and I would be happy to accept your invitation if possible." In very fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope.

From the personal collection of a lifelong collector, teacher, and traveler with a passion for world history. His collecting years ranged from the 1970s to the present day, meaning that several of the premier pieces have not been on the market in decades.
