Description

Influential black writer, educator, and civil rights activist (1868-1963) best known as the co-founder of the NAACP and author of The Souls of Black Folk. TLS, one page, 7.25 x 10.5, personal letterhead, February 20, 1961. Letter to Milton Rogovin, in full: “Answering your letter of February 12, let me say that I will be glad to look over your photographs and if I feel it possible to write a short introduction, I shall possibly be at the above office until June. You may telephone me at MAin 4-2929.” The lower left bears annotations in another hand. Affixed to a slightly larger backing sheet and in fine condition, with wrinkling at the corners from mounting.
