Manuscript DS in Russian, signed “Elizabeth,” one page both sides, 9.25 x 14.75, September 19, 1754. Letter to Charles VII of Naples and III of Sicily, congratulating him on the birth of a princess. In part: "We have learned with great satisfaction from Your Royal Highness's most esteemed letter of the 3rd of July of this year that Her Highness the Queen, your dearest wife, has been successfully delivered of a Princess. We deeply share in Your Highness's pleasure in the increase of your Royal House and, together with the assurance of Our true gratitude, congratulate you with heartfelt sincerity on this happy occasion, wishing Your Highness continued fulfillment of all you desire." In fine condition. Accompanied by the original transmittal cover, featuring a large affixed white paper seal. The princess was Maria Ana of Naples and Sicily, born on July 3, 1754, at the Palace of Portici, to King Charles VII of Naples and Sicily—later Charles III of Spain—and Queen Maria Amalia of Saxony. Sadly, Maria Ana died on May 11, 1755, at only ten months old.
