Description

German-American science writer and space advocate (1906-1969) who helped popularize rocketry and spaceflight in both Germany and the United States. Signed book: Rockets, Missiles, and Space Travel. Later printing. NY: The Viking Press, 1952. Hardcover, 5.75 x 8.5, 436 pages. Signed on the title page in blue ballpoint, "With my best wishes! Willy Ley." In fine condition, with very faint sunning to the spine and an ownership inscription to the first free end page. Accompanied by four pages of handwritten notes headed "Willy Ley's Lecture" at Northwestern University on May 4, 1959, evidently recorded by a member of the audience.
